Monster Makers: How would you describe your art style?

Jefferey Taylor: A tribute to 80’s and 90’s horror, and a touch of sci-fi and fantasy.

MM: What/who are some of your inspirations for the art that you create?

JT: Todd McIntosh and Thomas Surprenant’s work on Buffy the Vampire Slayer have been a huge inspiration.

MM: How would you describe the work that you do?

JT: I served full time in the Army for the last 10 years. Special FX has given me the energy and imagination I had when I was a child. It has really become a part of my families identity. 

MM: Do you have any particular goals with your art?

JT: To one day have a full time foam latex prosthetic shop.

MM: What are some of your most important art tools? Is there something you can’t live without in your studio?

JT: I can not live without my Monster Clay Medium, my effektstudion roller, and my ken tools.

MM: Do you have a favorite project that you’ve done so far?

JT: My Uber Vamp for last year’s Atlanta Imats.

MM: What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given?

JT: Keep practicing and never give up.
