Jefferey Taylor (@infected_fx Instagram) was a runner up for May 2019’s Maker of the Month with his piece “Uber Vamp”.

Monster Makers: How would you describe your art style?
Jefferey Taylor: A tribute to 80’s and 90’s horror, and a touch of sci-fi and fantasy.
MM: What/who are some of your inspirations for the art that you create?
JT: Todd McIntosh and Thomas Surprenant’s work on Buffy the Vampire Slayer have been a huge inspiration.

MM: How would you describe the work that you do?
JT: I served full time in the Army for the last 10 years. Special FX has given me the energy and imagination I had when I was a child. It has really become a part of my families identity.
MM: Do you have any particular goals with your art?
JT: To one day have a full time foam latex prosthetic shop.
MM: What are some of your most important art tools? Is there something you can’t live without in your studio?
JT: I can not live without my Monster Clay Medium, my effektstudion roller, and my ken tools.
“Special FX has given me the energy and imagination I had when I was a child.”
MM: Do you have a favorite project that you’ve done so far?
JT: My Uber Vamp for last year’s Atlanta Imats.

MM: What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given?
JT: Keep practicing and never give up.
