The Monster Makers - How to Paint a Latex Demon Mask- by Arnold Goldman

Paint Your Own Latex Demon Mask

Here is a deluxe demon mask called Demonicus that I created specifically for Horrorshow #5. The process used to create is this mask is covered completely in The Monster Makers Mask Makers Handbook. To fabricate a mask like this you will need a variety of mask making items. Check out one of our Complete Latex , Halloween Mask Making Kits to see a complete list of items used to make this mask.

One of the painting techniques that is often employed in Halloween Latex Mask Making is the Rub-out technique. The rub-out technique allows you to accentuate all of the fine details that can be put into a latex mask design. This demo covers doing rubouts, using mask paint and stippling techniques.

The Monster Makers - How to Paint a Latex Vampire Mask- by Arnold Goldman

Paint Your Own Latex Demon Mask

Some of you longtime Monster Makers Customers will recognize this mask called the Immortal. It was originally created in 1994 at a time when Monster Makers was producing a small line of masks for sale. For Horrowshow Magazine #6, a new color scheme was called for to demostrate a different painting effect using the the Iwata eclipse and FW Inks as well as Mask Paint.

Latex Halloween Masks can be painted in a variety of ways and this demo shows you how to combine two different approaches. Regardless of which painting technique you choose to use, the way to get really good at this is to practice, pratice, practice. Enjoy!
